GIVING STUDENTS THE
GRADUATION THEY DESERVE

Each year, thousands of students graduating from the Icahn School of Medicine attend their convocation ceremonies; a meaningful milestone on their long path towards a medical degree.

But over the course of 2020 and 2021, these ceremonies changed dramatically. Due to capacity limits, outbreak concerns, and testing logistics, students, faculty, and proud friends and family were faced with anticlimactic virtual events.

Instead of accepting this new status quo, the Icahn School of Medicine turned to Sparx to transform a basic livestream into an interactive experience. Hosted on the Sparx Studio platform, viewers commented, participated in polls, and used the pulse meter to applaud graduates. To date, Sparx has powered five successful graduation ceremonies with the university.
